Francis Gugen, Chairman

Francis GugenFrancis is Fraudscreen’s non-executive chairman. In addition, he is non-executive chairman of Island Gas Limited and a non-executive at Britannia Building Society. He is also Vice Chairman of Petroleum Geo Services, a member of the CBI’s Economic Affairs and Energy committees and a trustee and member of the management committee of the charity RAFT. Francis spent 18 years with Amerada Hess Corporation, where he was CEO of the UK and of North West Europe. He is a past president of the UK Offshore Operators Association, founder member of the UK Government’s Oil & Gas Task Force (now Pilot) and past chair of Crine, set up to improve oil industry supply chain and exports. Qualified as a chartered accountant he worked with Arthur Andersen in the 1970s.

James Middlehurst, CEO

James MiddlehurstJames has been a leading figure in the mail order and direct marketing sector for over 20 years, where his experience of selling products via credit based transactions encouraged him to establish Fraudscreen with his co-founders in 2003. Previous roles have included Managing Director of Britannia Music and more recently as CEO of global publishing giant Dorling Kindersley. James is a serving Board Director of the Direct Marketing Commission.

Victoria Tuffill, Director

Victoria TuffillVictoria is a recognised industry leader in the mail order and catalogue shopping industry. Following her early career with Time Life, Victoria designed and ran the direct selling model for Selfridges before establishing herself as a sought after consultant advising many of the country’s best loved home shopping companies. A co-founder of Fraudscreen in 2003, Victoria now works with mail order clients and specialises in developing innovative product applications for distance selling or call centre settings.

John Sharman, Sales Director

John SharmanJohn joined Fraudscreen, to take on full accountability for the sales and marketing function, from Experian, where he was most recently sales & marketing director for the UK integrated marketing division. Previously, his 12 year career with address management software specialists, QAS, saw John occupy UK and International sales director roles as well as a highly successful period as country manager in Australia, where he established the business from a zero base. The key theme running through John’s roles is in equipping large consumer organisations, directly or indirectly, with the data and the technology they need to make more profitable decisions in relation to customer management. John holds an HND in Business Studies and is an Associate Member of the Financial Services Forum.

Mark Arnold, Client Services Director

Mark ArnoldMark is a data planning and buying specialist and has worked for many leading b2c and b2b clients and agencies over the last 14 years. His experience covers leading brands including BT, BMW, BSkyB, HSBC, Littlewoods, Associated Newspapers and many more. During his career Mark has held senior positions with leading data specialists in the UK; including Prospect Swetenhams and Zed Media, the direct arm of Zenith Optimedia, of which Mark was a founding member. Most recently he was Business Planning Director at lifestyle data provider DLG before joining Fraudscreen in 2008 to head up the client services division.

Peter Taylor, Credit & Collections Director

Peter TaylorPeter Taylor joined Fraudscreen from credit and collections risk consultancy, The Petra Partnership, in 2007. His focus in the business is on the collections market, both in terms of product enhancements and in hands-on consultancy with clients. Peter brings with him over 20 years of client-side experience including roles as Head of Banking Credit Operations for HBoS and 17 years with Barclays Bank, latterly with full operational responsibility for over 3m credit card and loans accounts for Barclaycard. Peter recently co-authored 'Principles & Practice of Consumer Credit Risk Management', published by ifs School of Finance.

Jennifer Clay, Insight Director

Jennifer ClayJennifer joined Fraudscreen in early 2007 from marketing agency, Global Beach. Heading up the insight team, Jennifer is responsible for identifying, analysing and advising clients on the best use of Fraudscreen analyses. Having initially cut her teeth with customer intelligence specialists, DunnHumby, Jennifer has delivered powerful data insight programmes for the likes of eBay, Land Rover, BSkyB and Tesco, amongst others.

Gerald Gregory, Non-Executive Director

Gerald enjoyed an extensive career in the financial services industry with over twenty years at Britannia Building Society, latterly spending eight years as an executive director on their main board. His many roles with the group companies covered strategy, sales & marketing and product management, which he successfully brought together in his position as Managing Director of the Britannia Capital Investment Group. Gerald commenced his second career in March 2008, in which he occupies non-executive directorships for a portfolio of entrepreneurial companies.
